Product Description

Kenro Izu’s forty years of photography can be regarded as the meditations of a tireless pilgrim, who is still searching for the spiritual essence of existence, as he continually studies various rituals and places of worship all across the globe, so as to gloriously render the humankind’s primordial desire for salvation on the one hand, and portray it as an endless struggle on the other. Nabshi Center’s fourth book is a selected retrospective of the works by the Japanese, USA-based photographer Kenro Izu, who is a fine example of Asian artists who have remained true to their Eastern beliefs and cultures, in spite of leaving their homelands to develop their careers in the West. Publication of the book was timed to coincide with the exhibition of photographs by Kenro Izu held in Nabshi Center in September 2019.
